Nikki Thompson Frazier - Sweet Encounter Bakery

Nikki Thompson Frazier considers herself a mompreneur. Nearly seven years ago, she opened Sweet Encounter Bakery, an online and wholesale bakery. The bakery specializes in gluten free and allergy friendly desserts because both her daughters have food allergies.
Given the pandemic, Nikki decided pivoted and began offering, virtual and in person, cooking classes for kids and adults. She also offers corporate team building cooking skills.
In May 2021, she won the Lansing Built to Last Business Competition to further her business. She opened her first storefront in Lansing, MI, February 16, 2022 and has over 8 employees.
Nikki is an accomplished businesswoman who has won several business and baking competitions. One of her proudest accomplishments is competing on Food Network's Bakers vs. Fakers Food Competition Show.
Prior to starting her business, Frazier was the executive director of a local nonprofit in Alabama. She also worked for the United Way as a Program Manager and Eli Lilly as a Communications Associate. Over the years, she’s served on over six different non profit boards holding positions ranging from Board President to Publicity Chair.
Nikki has a BA in Journalism from Indiana University and MS Communications from Ball State University. She lives in Lansing and is married to Terrence Frazier and they have daughters Melia, 11, and Madison 8; and guardianship of their sister Shona, 40, who has Down Syndrome.
